We really enjoyed our visit to the rodeo. All the merchandise, food and entertainment was fabulous. Not to mention the fabulous furniture, that was available to purchase. I was wondering why so many people had brought a utility trailer, now I understand.
Absolutely a profound experience. So many beaurifully handcrafted items made by prisoners made it hard to choose what to buy. The level of talent of the inmates is astounding. There was a wide variety of food and beverages, kids play areas, seating for visitors to eat their food, or just rest. There's several stages where inmate bands are playing, and singing that rivals anything you've heard on radio or TV. The actual rodeo is amazing, and quite entertaining...though some of the acts appear a bit dangerous for the inexperienced inmate rodeo performers. They of course, love every minute of it, and appreciate the privilege of being able to perform, while making a little extra money to take care of their personal needs (shaving supplies, toorhpaste and toothbrushes, underwear, lotion, etc; which are not provided for by the state). It is definitely worth the trip to experience this once-in-a-lifetime Event!
Rodeo is awesome. The things that can be purchased are extremely high quality and the prices are excellent!
